📕 An Odd Update: Book Swag!
Did you pre-order yet? There's still time for bookswag bonuses!
Hello, hello! Did you know today is NATIONAL BABYSITTER’S DAY? (Apparently, it occurs annually on the Saturday before Mother’s Day!)
So, HAPPY BABYSITTER’S DAY! I hope babysitters get to put their (furry?) little feet up today, and maybe even enjoy a lovely meal from the finest dishware!

To celebrate in a very odd way, I’d love to take you through what will be in the pre-order book swag pack! Drum roll…an adorable two-sided, full-color bookmark, and a Certificate of Awesomeness (perfect for showing your cool credentials to whoever cares for you)!
This is in addition to (for those who order through my local indies) a personalized, signed book, or (for those who order anywhere else and fill out the online form below) a lovely signed translucent adhesive bookplate—which you can put in your book, or—who am I to judge?—stick to a loved one like a faux-tattoo!
As always, I encourage you (if you can) to pre-order through an independent bookshop! There are so many reasons for this (which I outline here), but mainly, they are good people and indispensable to the literary community ecosystem.
IF you pre-order through either QUEEN ANNE BOOK COMPANY or THIRD PLACE BOOKS here in Seattle, I will sign inside your book for you—and even personalize it, if you would like! Not only that, but the wonderful folx at either store will include the swag pack extras right in the shipped package, or in the book for pick-up! No need to fill out the pre-order swag pack form—you will get it all!
Those who attend the in-person launch events at either THIRD PLACE BOOKS or QUEEN ANNE BOOK COMPANY will additionally receive: a raccoonish bandit mask, and an assortment of take-home fun sheets, plus the priceless experience of seeing Elayne freak out as she launches her (with illustrator John Ledda) DEBUT picture book. 😱 Bring your camera.

It doesn’t end there! All who purchased a pre-order book elsewhere1—fill out this form, and I’ll send you a swag pack containing the bookmark, certificate, and the signed translucent adhesive bookplate, so you, too, can bask in your earned “Elayne is so grateful!” glory!
That’s it for now! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Your “Oddly counting the days” (23 now!) friend,
Elayne
Time Saver: If you are part of Operation Odd-aucious Raccoon, don’t worry about the form—I’ve already got you, fam.
